I have 3 film deals in the works. Nothing guaranteed yet--but then again there aren't any guarantees in the film industry.

My novel Divine Intervention is being considered by a well respected director who has many current hit TV series to his name. I believe he could have a hit as there's nothing quite like it on TV now. It would be like combining Medium, CSI and Ghost Whisperer.

If you haven't read Divine Intervention, it's about 3 psychic government agents (PSIs) and a fireman (Chief of Arson Investigation) and their search for a deadly serial arsonist. The team's covert base is a tiny mountain town called Divine, named after the head of the PSI division.

So my husband got to thinking the other day...He wondered what the title of the television series would be.

He came up with PSI Canada.

I came up with PSI Divine.

Of course it'll probably be something very different. But it was fun wondering.

Over the past month or so, grade 12 students from E.S.C. Trillium High School in Chapleau, Ontario, studied my thriller The River. It's been a lot of fun for the teacher Pam Morin, her students and me, especially since we've kept in touch, were able to do video conferencing and I felt like I was part of the class. Thank you, Pam!

Over the next few days I'm going to post bits from some of the students' reports/reviews, and I have to say, these young adults really "got" what I was saying. The River is a techno-thriller, part Mission Impossible, part adventure, part history...and so much more.

"The River is a sort of thriller type novel that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it...the action starts right at the beginning of the novel, when Arnold Shroeder shows up and informs Del that her father’s still alive...cool how the author incorporates the character descriptions into the story without overloading the readers with useless information...I couldn’t believe how interesting she made their search through the Nahanni regions sound...I found the end of the novel very climactic. I am so honored to be chosen!

So Tuesday, after a flurry of what to wear other than my plush pink slippers (which you might see in the interview) and fighting with my hair, I prepared to be interviewed.

Also included was my wonderful publicist Rachel Sentes from OutRight Communications. Thank you, Rachel!! You are fab!

We talked about my novels, especially Whale Song. I even talk a bit about the movie deal that's in negotiations and progressing smoothly. Reid was also interested in the novel I'm writing on my iPhone--Finding Bliss.
