Once again, mystery author
Cheryl Kaye Tardif, author of
Whale Song, will be organizing the increasingly popular Authors' Row at the
Edmonton Woman's Show. The Spring Show will take place on April 14th and 15th, 2007 at the Northlands AgriCom in Edmonton, Alberta. Authors' Row has been a regular feature for the past 4 Shows, but this year it will be bigger and better.
Over the next 3 months, Family Productions Inc, the Show's producers, will increase exposure of Authors' Row and the authors participating. Authors' bios, photos, excerpts and more will be posted on the Edmonton Woman's Show web site. Many of the fiction authors will also be offering a "Become a Character in a Novel Contest" (or Story), so if you'd like to see your name in a book, make sure you enter.
Authors’ Row gives readers the chance to get out, buy some books and meet the authors. There is nothing better than receiving an autographed and personalized book, and with Mother’s Day mere weeks after the Spring Show, it’s a great opportunity to pick up something special for Mom.
The Show is put on twice a year--spring and fall--and has grabbed some well-known headliners in past events. Robert Hoffman from TV’s ‘Vanished’, Eric Stromer from TLC’s ‘Clean Sweep’, and Rob and Amber from Survivor and The Amazing Race fame, have been some of the names to grace the main stage.
Cheryl Kaye Tardif’s role is finding and coordinating the authors, something that hasn’t been a problem since she belongs to a number of writing groups and associations and has organized other multi-author events in the past. Cheryl is the creator of A.F.T.E.R. ~ Authors for Tragic Event Relief, which raised funds for the Canadian Red cross after the Asia tsunami and earthquakes. She has also organized a book drive to help a school in the US that wants to sell or auction off baskets to raise money so they can rebuild their playground and make it accessible to disabled children. She was also involved in a non-book related fundraiser that she organized in an effort to help a young boy travel to Drumheller, AB, to see the ‘dinosaurs’.
Yet, twice a year, you’ll find her on Authors’ Row promoting and selling her novels. So if you’re in the Edmonton area on April 14th and 15th, be sure to drop by her booth on Authors’ Row and say ‘hi’.
